Premal co-founded Kiva.org — a global poverty alleviation nonprofit. He served as Kiva’s President for its first decade, helping to raise +$1 billion in crowdfunded capital to improve livelihoods in +70 countries. He’s now teamed up again with a fellow Kiva co-founder at Branch.co — a mission-driven start up that levers smart phone data and AI for financial inclusion in Asia and Africa. With +20 million downloads, Branch is one of the most downloaded microfinance apps in the world. He’s passionate about how technology can help unlock the best in humanity. He serves on the Board of tech driven non-profits VolunteerMatch.org, Watsi.org, the Change.org Foundation and Center For Humane Technology. Premal has been named a DRK Fellow, Skoll Awardee and was selected to FORTUNE magazine’s “Top 40 under 40″ list. Prior to Kiva, Premal was a Principal Product Manager at PayPal & graduated from Stanford University.
