Sharing Impact Best Practices in the Food System

The food system is the second bigger greenhouse gas emitter sector but 1/3 of the food is wasted whilst 1/7 of people are hungry and over 50% of people are overweight or obese in the occidental world.

Sonae MC has been implementing a series of initiatives with a social, environmental and economic impact on Portuguese society.

In this session we’ll discuss what should be the role of a food retailer to change the food system all over the entire supply chain, and how to use the circular economy models contributing to a more responsible consumption either in combating food waste or in promoting healthier food.
