In order to help impact/ESG investors to better understand climate impact and inform their portfolio allocation strategies, we would like to discuss the meaning of the practice of “climate impact investing” and explore how it might be scaled and utilised as a tool to accelerate the world’s race to climate neutrality, considering market dynamics, systemic obstacles and the potential climate solution space. What are the contributions we can realistically expect from impact vs. ESG investors? Where and why are financial markets not working as well as they should and what can be done about it?
Objectives of the session:
- increase understanding of different types of climate impact and climate impact investing strategies
- facilitate peer learning with regard to climate impact investing as an emerging practice “beyond ESG investing”
- explore how the aspiration gap with regard to climate impact finance could be closed
