New frontiers of impact investing after the crisis – a case for the african economies

Due to COVID-19 Africa has entered one of its worst economic crisis of the past 25 years, which presents a potential “mass extinction event” for early-stage impact enterprises in Africa jeopardizing the deployment of innovations and expectations for an impact led recovery. It is our responsibility to step in and renew our commitment to build a “New Normal” leveraging on new financial tools, with higher risk tolerance and higher flexibility such as recoverable grants and forgivable loans.
